ROY LICHTENSTEIN

American, October 27, 1923 – September 29, 1997

PROBABLY THE BEST copy-cat artist ever, Roy Lichtenstein took early comic strips and cartoons and ‘transformed them’ (his words), into huge pop art canvases. He didn’t give credit to the original comic artist and painters, possibly because these artists, at the time, often didn’t want the credit.
