NON-PROFIT WORK
Dr. W. H. Bentham, DVM
1938 - 2020
-
Every year, we create a unique annual calendar to honor Dr. Bill Bentham, lead veterinarian of his San Francisco veterinary practice, Central Veterinary Hospital. He worked to better the quality of animals lives for over 50 years, and I illustrated an annual calendar for the practice for the last 31 years. While on one of his trips, cliff hiking in South America or somewhere exotic like that, Dr. Bentham passed away in 2020 at age 82. Exactly the way he’d want to go, doing something he loved almost as much as caring for pets. When CVH changed ownership, I wanted to continue doing the calendar in his memory, while continuing to honor Dr. Bentham’s commitment to his pet family. I would like to give folks another way to donate to a most worthy cause. In his honor, I’ve decided to continue making the calendar and donate part of the proceeds to some of the rescues that IDYP supports.
I can’t tell you how much I miss Dr. Bentham. He was my beloved veterinarian and subsequently a client of mine back in 1986 in the S.F. Bay area. Over the years, he became as much of a friend as he was one of my clients. He always gave me free reign with the designs for the calendar, and truly loved the illustrations I would do each year. He championed animals in many different ways throughout his lifetime. We shared a love of animals, cats in particular.I hope you’ll purchase one of these calendars — especially knowing that the majority of the proceeds will be going to a worthy cause and a truly caring memory. The memory of my employer, my veterinarian, and my friend.
Thank you, and give your pets an extra belly rub for Dr. Bentham.
